Ministries/Vocational

Outreach is a core part of our educational program.  Whether it is reaching out to another student on the campus, taking part in disaster relief or the local community service center or going to another country, we instill in the students the heart of our Heavenly Father. Jesus showed us the Father through His acts of loving service to all those whom He came in contact with and He met them where they were.

Through the outreach ministries listed on this page and more, we teach outreach in precept and example.

Heritage Academy is a leading academy for students seeking a career in the medical/health/wellness field.

Led by a dynamic 10 member Medical Advisory Council, students receive:

  • an advanced curriculum designed to give them an advantage in the classroom once they enter college.
  • certifications in various medical areas that provide hands-on experience.
  • opportunities for advanced medical training during the summer.

Students can take advantage of established partnerships with post-secondary institutions providing advanced course work and dual enrollment classes.  These partnerships provide an in-depth look for both our students and the institutions as they consider working together for their career goals.

Our primary focus is to provide a comprehensive educational experience in wellness, health and medical best practices.  This will give them the advantage they need to learn, grow and advance their academic and spiritual knowledge.  With these advantages, they will be equipped to share their love of Jesus to the most vulnerable amongst us.

Working the soil is a faith-building and character-building exercise.  There are spiritual lessons when you are planting a garden.  A century ago, around 70 percent of people had a connection with a farm; now it’s just 1 percent.  Fresh air, sunlight, exercise… those things are important, and we have personally experienced those benefits.   Agriculture should be a crucial element in children’s education.

Would you send your kids to a school that does not teach even its ABCs?  There’s more to education than agriculture, but agriculture is foundational to education. The farm is a great school.  The most exalted spiritual truths may be brought home to the heart by the things of nature.  T4, pg 579.

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14

The Mission Aviation program is designed to train young people with a passion to share the gospel with those who live in areas so remote, they cannot be reached except by plane. This aviation training includes both ground school and flight training with the goal to have each student receiving a private pilot’s license before or at graduation.

Time permitting, some students do further instrument rating training. Additional instruction, including health evangelism and Bible study are included in the flight program to help prepare the student for the dynamic aspects of mission service.

The disaster response component of this ministry also prepares mission aviation students for service in countries with little to no infrastructure. Ministering in these often, remote and austere conditions can prove challenging and this training is designed to help students anticipate and adapt during the transition.

“Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:19, 20

Literature Evangelism puts students in a position where they must answer for their faith. Opportunities for witnessing often drive students to deeper searches for the reasons for their beliefs. Students in this ministry, sow in the community seeds for eternity. We will never realize this impact on individual lives until we see the harvest of souls in eternity. Students visit homes and businesses between Nashville and Knoxville in an area of approximately 20,000 square miles.

I was canvassing on one of the breaks and I went to this barber shop and one man asked me about the sabbath and was excited to answer it because in Bible, we had been reviewing how to defend the sabbath so this was a opportunity to test the knowledge I acquired and thats what I did. By the end of it they were amazed at my answer and I was able to get several books out and get a free haircut God truly blessed.

This ministry challenges the physical, mental and spiritual faculties. Students are prepared for disaster response through intense training, CPR certification, AED and CERT. Students are involved in training others in disaster response as well as conducting mock disaster drills. Students have the opportunity to serve with federal, state and local disaster response agencies such as FEMA and non-government organizations.

The opportunity to interface with the public in such a personal way develops compassion and sympathy and stirs within the student’s heart a desire to serve.

‘The only way to grow in grace is to do the work Christ has asked us to do. We need to help others as much as we can, for helping others is spiritual exercise. Exercising the body make a person strong.  If we want to keep our Christian life strong, we must work.  If we receive God’s blessings and do nothing, our Christian lives will not be healthy and strong. Receiving without giving is like trying to live by eating and not working. A person who does not use his arms and legs soon loss his power to move them. The Christian who will not use the powers that God gives him no longer grows in Christ. He even loses the power he already has.’

The video production ministry exists to train young people to use technology to help finish the work of revealing God’s true character to the world and to inspire young people to live a life of service for God and others. This training enables students to grow spiritually as they experience Christ by helping other young people learn, share and live Christ through media.
